Super Fine Kazak Rug
$266.00
Hand knotted in northern Afghanistan by Hazara women in a cottage industry setting using handspun wool on upright looms. Kebabian’s Kazakh rugs are made with only the best wool and dyes, and are “Super Fine”. Most of the Kazaks in the market today are not very good quality and therefore won’t stand up in look and durability over time. The word, ‘Kazak’ means ‘rough-rider’ and describes a race of restless, roaming, troublesome people. Even though they adopted more sedentary lives, the independent spirit of their ancestors continues in their rug designs.
