Sultanabad Luxe Tribal Handwoven Rug

Kebabian’s Luxe Tribal Collection features exceptional hand knotted rugs based on chic Oriental rug designs. This collection has an evolved texture and colors perfect for both traditional and modern homes. Made with highly durable Ghazni wool which comes from sheep bred in the mountainous Ghazni province between Kabul and Kandahar. Hand knotted with handspun wool and natural dyes.

This piece was hand-knotted in northern Afghanistan by Hazara women using handspun vegetally dyed Ghazni wool. The bold color palette of madder red, peach, sky blue, lime green and ivory is both warm and cheerful. The floral vines in the inner field gracefully dance around the larger floral elements, while small flowers march happily around the main border, producing a perfectly choreographed ballet. The guard borders, which are chock full of tiny details (i.e., paisley, split lotus leaves, rosettes, etc.) ground the carpet and contribute to the overall harmony of the piece. This delightful piece has endless charm and grace.
