Overdyed Blue Oushak Blue Quality Wool Rug

Hand knotted in Pakistan in a cottage industry setting using local wool. Kebabian’s overdye carpets are created in three steps. First, the rug is woven with a pattern just like any other hand knotted rug. Second, the rug undergoes a rigorous antiquing process to neutralize the colors, which doesn’t remove the pattern but reduces it to an outline. Third, the rug is dyed in one color as many times as necessary to achieve the desired saturation level and hue.
