Japanese Diamond Obsidian Oxidized Silk/Wool Rug

A breathtaking modern rug exclusively at Kebabian’s with 70% silk and 30% wool pile. What makes this carpet even more unique is the wool and silk are dyed together in the same hank (hank dyeing is a time-consuming process but maximizes color penetration and retention and is less damaging to the materials). When the weaver goes to tie a certain color knot, they may get wool or silk yarn. After the weaving, the carpet goes through a delicate oxidation process where the wool pile is lowered slightly in comparison to the silk. This entire process creates the dramatic, eye-catching shimmer that gives the Japanese Diamond carpet both added dimension and beauty.

PANTONE shades: We do our best to find the closest match to one or multiple colors in the rug. The shade card we choose may not always be the perfect one, but we do our best (it’s a lot of work)! At times we may show multiple shade cards so you can get a better sense of color. Finally, when photographing rugs from the same group (shipment, collection, SKU, etc.) we will often use one or two shade card(s) so that you can get a good sense of the coloration.
