Antique Persian Fine Serab Camel Hair Long Runner Rug

Hand knotted in the village of Serab, northwest Persia in. The rug is made from camel hair, a fiber that feels a bit harder than wool and yet still soft. Serab is the collecting center for some of the hardest-wearing runners in the world. The pieces are also known for the camel color used in the field. Later Serab rugs have an unattractive synthetic red, but this one has the genuine vegetable dyed red derived from madder root. This Antique Persian Serab is in excellent condition for its age.
