Antique Northwest Persian Handwoven Rug
$12,500.00
This beautiful piece was woven circa 1890–1910 by nomadic or semi-nomadic weavers. Tribal weavings, especially from the Northwest region near the Caucasus, are celebrated for their bold, rectilinear patterns, reflecting influences from various ethnic groups and the personal imagination of the weaver, who worked from memory rather than a complex diagram. The wool warp foundation is a classic structural sign of these durable, nomadic weavings, built to withstand a rugged lifestyle. Featuring a striking, repeating pattern of geometric medallions and a palette rich in saturated, natural dyes, this runner is a cherished, authentic piece of Persian folk art that offers both history and enduring character.
PANTONE shades: We do our best to find the closest match to one or multiple colors in the rug. The shade card we choose may not always be the perfect one, but we do our best (it’s a lot of work)! At times we may show multiple shade cards so you can get a better sense of color. Finally, when photographing rugs from the same group (shipment, collection, SKU, etc.) we will often use one or two shade card(s) so that you can get a good sense of the coloration. Hope you enjoy viewing our beautiful rugs!
