Hand knotted in Heriz, northwest Persia. Heriz carpets usually have a dominant central medallion and bold corner motifs, but despite their commonality in design each and every Heriz is different. Each piece is made individually by weavers working from no more than a fragment or a drawing, only giving them a general indication of the required style. The Persian Heriz has a reputation for durability surpassed only by that of the Bidjar. In the best Persian Herizes beauty and functionality meet in perfect harmony. This piece is exceptional in every sense of the word. The colors are beautiful and the condition excellent.
