Antique Shirvan Northern Caucasus Handwoven Rug

Measuring approximately 3’6” x 5’8”, this rug features a striking design with large, blue star-like geometric motifs and intricate white detailing, set against a vibrant red background. The central field is interspersed with smaller floral patterns, while the multicolored borders, adorned with diagonal stripes and geometric shapes, frame the design elegantly. Shirvan rugs from the Caucasus region are renowned for their fine weave, intricate patterns, and the use of vivid colors. These rugs often reflect the diverse cultural influences of the Shirvan region, located at the crossroads of various civilizations. Despite some visible wear, particularly in the central area, this handwoven rug radiates historical charm and cultural significance. The rug is in fair condition with signs of wear consistent with its age. It has been properly dusted and cleaned by Kebabian Rugs, and is ready for its next owner.
