Antique Persian Kurd Hamadan Rug
$5,000.00
Hand knotted ca. 1900 in a village around Hamadan, western Iran. Hamadan rugs can originate from any one of hundreds of villages across the vast region. While materials used can vary from one village to another, one uniting characteristic of this area is that virtually all Hamadan rugs are single-wefted, unlike most tribal rugs which are double-wefted. This particular Persian antique rug is in very good condition and has excellent quality wool that must be felt to be fully realized. As far as Hamadan rugs go, this piece is one of the best.
