Afghan Bakshayesh Vegetable Dyed Wool Rug
Hand knotted in northern Afghanistan by Turkmen weavers using handspun vegetable dyed local mountain sheep wool in a cottage industry setting. The Turkmen are well known for using horizontal floor looms, which were also employed by their nomadic ancestors. Kebabian’s rugs from these families are some of the finest examples of classic tribal and village designs. Kebabian’s shares their passion for weaving beautiful recreations and collaborates with the weavers on color, design and weave. The end results are spectacular rugs and carpets that will stand the test of time.
